Responsibilities: 

• Understand student learning and development and respect the diversity of the students
• Know and understand the content area
• Understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning
• Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student
• Create learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students
• Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators and the community to support student learning
• Assume responsibility for professional growth , performance and involvement as an individual and as a member of a learning community
• Ensure the safety of students 
• Effectively manage the classroom 
• Effectively manage and operate district technology
• Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

Qualifications 

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in education with appropriate subject area from an accredited college/university 
• Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program
• Hold a valid and appropriate State of Ohio certification/license for the job posting
• If the posting is a third grade position, the applicant must meet the Third Grade Reading Guarantee Teacher Qualification Requirements
• Undergo or have a current state and federal criminal background check.

 

Additional Working Conditions 

• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue 
• Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and  arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop 
• Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull various items up to a maximum of 25 pounds 
• Occasional evening work 
• Frequent repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, calculator, writing
